Kent Boyd is an LA-based choreographer, movement director, and producer who got his start as runner up on Fox’s hit dance show SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. After working in the industry for the past decade, Kent has toured around the world as a dancer for SYTYCD and various chart topping artists. He starred in the Disney Channel Movie “Teen Beach” and “Teen Beach 2” and also produced his own show for the network, “Free Period.” He’s choreographed music videos for Vanessa Hudgens, Becky G, Franz Szony, Stand Up to Cancer, Lauv, All Time Low, and assisted choreography for Dua Lipa on various music videos.
Kent also has an extreme passion for teaching and has been a faculty member of Hollywood Vibe Dance Convention since 2011 where he is currently touring and teaching young dancers all around the U.S and Canada. In 2017, he was awarded Favorite Convention Teacher by the Industry Dance Awards.
Kent started his training in Ohio, and has a background in musical theater, jazz, Alexander Technique, Viewpoints, and has even studied comedy at the UCB Theater. With a fun, high-energy, and often absurdist style, Kent’s work transports you to another world. Always a risk taker, Kent enjoys playing with a narrative, plot-driven style that’s consistently infused with humor and wit.
